قلعة القاهرة في مدينة تعز
تطل قلعة القاهرة على مدينة تعز، ويقدر ارتفاعها بحوالي (1500م) عن مستوى سطح البحر، وترجع المصادر التاريخية تأسيسها إلى ما قبل الإسلام، ولم تذكرها في العصر الإسلامي، إلا منذ عهد الدولة الصليحية في القرن (5هـ)، عندما أشارت بان الأمير عبد الله بن محمد الصليحي شقيق الداعي محمد بن محمد الصليحي قد أتخذها منها حصناً له، وأعادها إلى واجهة الأحداث التاريخية ، فقد استولى عليها (توران شاه) سنة (569هـ / 1173م) بعد أن قضى على قوات (عبد النبي الرعيني)، وصارت في عهد الدولة الرسولية حامية لمقر الملك المظفر يوسف بن عمر بن رسول، ثم آلت بعد ذلك إلى الطاهريين في سنة (924هـ / 1518م)، وظلت موقعاً عسكرياً مهماً يسيطر على مدينة تعز بعد ذلك ، وحتى وقت قريب.
إن قلعة القاهرة قد قامت بأدوار عسكرية وسياسية هامة خلال تاريخها الطويل، وليس ذلك فحسب ، بل إنها أيضاً تمثل تحفة معمارية نادرة بما تحويه من منشآت متنوعة، فضلاً عن موقعها المطل على مدينة تعز، لذا توجهت إليها الأنظار وامتدت إليها يد الترميم والتطوير لصيانتها وتأهيلها، لتستقبل الزوار في منشآتها الترفيهية، كالمنتزهات والمطاعم والشلالات بالإضافة إلى المكتبة والمسرح والمتحف ومرافق أخرى تقدم خدماتها الراقية لمرتاديها.
إنها مقصداً سياحياً رائعاً ومتنفساً فريداً.
Al Qahira Citadel in Taiz City
The alqahira citadel overlooks taiz city, perched at a majestic of 1500 meters above sea level. According to historical sources it was built before the advent of islam. However references do not mention it during the Islamic era, until the salahite state in the fifth century A.H. this point, historical references indicate that emir Abdullah bin Mohamed al salehi, brother of Al da'ei Mohamed bin Mohamed Al salehi, took it as his fort, which brought the citadel back to historical prominence. It was later captured by toran shah in 569 A.H. after he defeated the army of Abdulnabi Al Ro'aini. The citadel became a garrison to king Al muzafar youssef bin omer bin rasul during the rasulid era. Later it fell to the taherites in 924 A.H., and became an important military position that helped control the city of taiz from then on until recent times.
The Al qahira citadel played important military and political roles throughout the long history of the taiz region. It is also a rare architectural masterpiece with varied facilities. Bacause of its close proximity to the city of taiz, the citadel became the fortunate object of restoration, development and maintenance. These days, visitors in large numbers make a beeline to its many recreational facilities, like its parks, restaurants, waterfalls, library, theater, museum and other facilities.
Though the citadel is a magnificent recreation center, it is also an authentic tourist destination in its own right.
