مدينة المكلا
تقع مدينة المكلا على ساحل البحر العربي على الشرق من عدن ، وتبعد عنها بنحو(620كم) ، زقد أقيمت في منطقة سهلية بين البحر والجبل ، ويبدأ ظهور هذه المدينة منذ مطلع (القرن 5هـ /11م) ، ويرجع بعض المؤرخين بنائها إلى الملك المظفر الرسولي بعد سنة (670هـ /1271م )، الذي قام ببناء الحصون والأسوار الضخمة المنيعة حولها ، غير أنها لم تعرف باسمها الحالي 0المكلا9 إلا عند إنشاء الإمارة الكسادية في سنة (1115هـ / 1703م) ، ولم تذع شهرتها ومكانتها الإ عندما اتخذتها السلطنة القعيطية حاضرة لها في سنة (1334هـ / 1915م)، ومقراً للحكم ، وتمتاز المكلا بطابعها المعماري المميز والمتمثل في مآذنها ومبانيها البيضاء التي ترتفع إلى اربعة طوابق مشرفة على حافة شاطئ البحر ، كما حبتها الطبيعة بشواطئ رملية فضيعة ناعمة محاطة بالبساتين الخضراء المريحة للناظرين ، أما قصر القعيطي فيقع فوق لسان يمتد على الساحل عند بداية مدخل المكلا الرئيسي ويرجع تاريخه إلى سنة (1925م)، ويتكون من ثلاثة أدوار يحيط به سور بمساحة كبيرة وبناؤه متأثر بطابع العمارة الهندية وهو الطابع الذي كان شائعا في ذلك الوقت ، أما اليوم فأنه متحف يضم قطعاً أثرية بالإضافة إلى مخلفات سلاطين الدولة القعيطية ،ويتموضع حصن الغويزي أمام مدخل مدينة المكلا الشمالي الشرقي ، وفي وسط المكلا تقع المكتبة العامة المقامة فوق سقف مسجد عمر، والتي يرجع تأسيسها إلى سنة (1941م) في عهد السلطان صالح بن غالب القعيطي الذي زودها بالكتب والمراجع والدوريات من مختلف أنحاء العالم .
Mukla city
Makla city is located along the arabian sea coast , 620km to the east of aden, the city was built in a plain between the sea and the mountain , and first emerged in the beginning of the 11th century a.d.
Some historians believe that it was build by king al muzafar during the rasulid ear after 1271 A.D. hebuilt forts and huge impregnable fences around the city . it was not known by its current name, makla, until the time of the kasadite emirate in 1703 A.D. it became famous when the al katanea sultanate took it as its capital, and made it the seat of government in 1915 A.D. the city is known for its white minarets, four-storey building that overlook the seacoast, and soft sandy silver beaches surrounded by green orchards.
There is also the famous al katei palace along the coast at the main entrance to makla that dates back to 1925 A.D. the three-storey palace is surrounded by a long fence whose technique of building is affected by the Indian style, which was very popular at that time. At present, the palace has been turned into a museum containing sultans of al katei state.
The eastern entrance of makla city is guarded by the al chuaizi fort. While at the center of the city , there is the public library build over the omar mosque this library build over the omar mosque . this library dates back to 1941 A.D. and was build under the reign of sultan saeh bin chalb al katei who provided it with books , references and periodicals from all over the world.
