معبد اوام

    يقع المعبد على مسافة (10كم) على الجنوب من مدينة مارب العاصمة السبئية التي كانت تتحكم بطرق التجارة القديمة ، لقد كان معبد اوام مكانا مقدساً تمارس فية العبادات إلى بداية  النصف الثاني  من القرن الرابع الميلادي  ، وتدل المعلومات الأولية أن تاريخ بناء هذا المعبد قد شيد لأول مرة في القرن العاشر قبل الميلاد  ، ولايستبعد الباحثون تاريخاً أقدم من ذلك لإنشائه  ، يتون المعبد من سور مبنى بالأحجار  المهندمة من الصخور الكلسية يبلغ طولها حوالي (752م )  بسماكة تتراوح من (5:3م)  ، ويتوسطة  فناء بطول (52م) وعرض (24م) وضعت فيه ألأعمدة الثمانية  ، أما المدخل  فيقع في الجهة الشمالية الشرقية من السور .

    تشير المصادر التاريخية والأثرية على ان معبد (أوام ) هو المعبد الرئيسي للإله (المقه) إله الدولة والذي كان يعرف بإله القمر ، ويحتل المعبد مكانة مميزة بين بقية معابد الإله المقة في اليمن القديم فقد كان الناس يحجون أليه من مختلف أنحاء الجزيرة العربية  ، كما يتميز بكثير من المميزات المعمارية والهندسية فظلا عن مكانته الدينية في تلك الحقبة .

 Awam temple

    This ancient temple can found  10 km to the south  of ma,areb city  , the capital of sheba  and the city that controlled the old trade route . the temple of awam was a sacred place in which rituals were practiced till the second half of the 4th century  A.D. initial information indicate that the establishment of the temle dates back to the time of al makrab  al saba,e (il zerh bin  sema ali ) who raised its wall . it is believed that the temple was first  built ten centuries before Christ , but other  researchers do not rule out the possibility that the temple could have been built even before this date . he temple consists of a wall built whith  calcite stones whish are about 752 meters long and  3 to 5  meters thick  . in the middle , there  is a courtyard (52m * 24m) in whish eight columns are positioned . the entrance of the temple is located in the northeastern said of the wall .

    Historical and archaeological sources indicate that the awam temple was the main temple for the awam temple was the main temple for the god 'al maqa' , the god of the state  whe was also known as the god of the moon . the temple has an eminent status among the other temples of al maqa god in ancient yemen . the temple was famous  for its plethora of architectural  designs , as well as the pre-eminent religious status that it enjoyed  during its time . in fact , it was one of the first centres of pilgrimage for people  from all over Arabia in that long gone era .
